Specific skills requirements:

·         Install, diagnose, replace or repair all electrical components and systems on site while maintaining a high level of safety

·         Test equipment and components for current, continuity and voltage

·         Maintain, repair and test switchgears, transformers, and other electrical mine and mill electrical equipment

·         Maintain, repair and test motors, generators and electrical control systems

·         New equipment installations and commissioning as required for a mine and mill

·         Troubleshoot industrial control systems and devices

·         Understand the manuals and manufacturers requirements and recommendations for all equipment and systems and interpret electrical code specifications

·         Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records

·         Develop and execute predictive maintenance plan

·         Read blueprints, schematics and drawings

·         Maintain inventory of stored material

·         Coach and instruct Apprentice Electricians

·         Ability to Work with other Trades and to assist in troubleshooting

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications:

·       5+ years of journeymen electrician experience in a mine/mill environment with a commitment to safety

·       Red Seal Electrician Journeyman Certification

·       Motivated, self starter who can work well independently or within a team environment

·       Good physical condition as a Medical will be a requirement of employment

·       PLC / Controls and Instrumentation experience is an asset

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Experienced problem solving and troubleshooting

·       The capability to and comfort with working at heights /Ability to work in confined spaces



·         The individual will have the authority and responsibility for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. He or she must follow company safety and health standards and report any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her supervisor. The individual is responsible for the use of all safety equipment, i.e., lanyards, warning signs and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation. He or she is also responsible to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
