The Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all relevant environmental standards, policies, and regulations;
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)are followed. Help revise development and production work SOP’s  as necessary;
  • Work with Shift Supervisors to ensure that all workers are properly trained for the tasks they are required to perform
  • Actively Promote safety awareness and safety training.
  • Sound working knowledge of all relevant mining requirements and legislation.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including Excel and Word documents on computers.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.   

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • 5+ Years’ Experience in an underground Supervisory Position;
  • Ability to operate various types of mining equipment;
  • Sound working knowledge of all relevant mining requirements and legislation;
  • Good oral and written communication and computer skills, including Excel and Word documents.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to operate and train employees on various types of mining equipment;
  • Train the trainer documentation preferred;
  • Ability to operate various types of mining equipment;
  • Sound working knowledge of all relevant mining requirements and legislation;
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment


The individual will have the authority and responsibility for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. He or she must follow company safety and health standards and report any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her supervisor. The individual is responsible for the use of all safety equipment, i.e., lanyards, warning signs and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation. He or she is also responsible to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
