Responsibilities will include: 

• Ensure engineering work products are consistent with regulatory and company policies and procedures.

• Lead and co-ordinate the Mining Engineering support functions (surveying, ventilation, rock mechanics, mine planning and scheduling, reserve management, budgeting) with other departments;

• Work in tandem with the Mine Operations and Geology departments to ensure mine production targets are achieved;

• Build achievable short and long-term mining plans in line with strategic and tactical objectives;

• Lead site strategic planning and budgeting efforts;

• Identify production and planning opportunities and recommend/implement action plans;

• Lead and manage departmental staff (ex: Hiring, training, evaluation, and development);

• Build beneficial partnerships with appropriate vendors, engineering firms, industry professionals, government departments, and other stakeholders.

• Assist Senior Engineer with mentoring junior & intermediate mine engineers monitor during development and production design.

• Oversee and ensure any revision needed of engineering standards of practice.

• Other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time. This could include work related to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner and contributing to the overall safety program at Rambler.


Qualifications and Experience:

• B.Sc. Mine Engineering;

• Demonstrable focus on safe production;

• Registration or eligibility for registration with PEGNL;

• Ten (10) years engineering and/or mine production experience, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering  role, preferably in underground hard rock operations;

• Previous experience using modeling, mine planning, and scheduling software, preferably Deswik;

• Experience in preparing short and long term mine production and development schedules;

• Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training, and motivating employees;

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
